DESCRIPTION:Join the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Economic Event Committee on Monday\, February 22\, 2016 from 11:30   1:00 pm at Bella Notte to hear from the passionate 2016 ATHENA Recipient Janice Sweet Fairley and join us to find out who the Jackson Business & Professional Women's Nike Recipient will be.\n\n\n\nJanice has served the Jackson community for 35 years as a leader and partner on many organizations and teams.  She was the first female to be elected as President of the Jackson County Branch NAACP.  She was appointed by the State of Michigan to the Family Independence Agency Board. \n\n \n\nShe has already been bestowed with numerous awards\, including the Susan B. Anthony Award\, Dedicated Service Award from the Policing Agenci9es in Jackson County\, Distinguished Citizen Award\, Outstanding Leadership Graduate of the Year\, the Ex and Sadie Barham Award from NAACP and the MLK Distinguished Service Award.\n\n \n\nAmongst all this\, Janice is an ordained minister and founder of SWAPP\, an advocacy program for parents.\n\n \n\nJackson BPW is a local organization in one of the largest working women's organizations.  BPW is firmly committed to raising public awareness of health and family concerns and legislative issues for women. Jackson BPW meets the second and fourth Tuesday from noon to 1:15 PM at Cascades Manor House.  A business meeting on the second Tuesday provides an overview of the workings of our organization.  Program meetings on the fourth Tuesday feature various speakers on topics of interest to our members.\n\n \n\nJackson Business and Professional Women presents the Nike Award to a woman who exemplifies the qualities the Nike Award represents: progress\, strength\, freedom and triumphs while facing adversity. www.JacksonBPW.org.
