SUMMARY:HR Series - Title VII (prohibits employers from discriminating) and Equal Pay
DESCRIPTION:Title VII influences every aspect of employment including job postings and recruitment efforts\, hiring & firing\, discipline\, promotions and training. Under Title VII\, if an employee claims discrimination\, the employer must prove it has not violated the law. The court may remedy violations by ordering reinstatement\, with or without back pay\, and may grant any other equitable relief it feels is appropriate.  This includes recruitment\, hiring\, promotion\, discipline\, discharge and training.\n\nDiscrimination Is Against The Law\n\nThe above laws prohibit discrimination in:\n\n\n	Employment\n	Public Accommodations\n	Public Service\n	Education\n	Housing (Owner-occupied one or two family dwellings are excluded. Does include financing and insurance.)\n\nBecause of:\n\nReligion (Does not include religious accommodation in employment. However\, complaints of denial of religious accommodation may be filed under Title VII\, US Civil Rights Act of 1964\, as amended.)\n\nRace\n\nColor\n\nNational Origin (Includes the national origin of an ancestor.)\n\nAge (Means chronological age\, and there is no upper or lower age limit\, except as otherwise provided by law. Under the education section\, applies only to admissions.)\n\nSex (Includes sexual harassment and pregnancy or conditions related to pregnancy.
