About Us

Dr. John Smarch
I grew up in Newport Michigan, graduated from Monroe Catholic Central. My interest in Chiropractic began when my dad met a Chiropractor, Dr. Roger O'Dell. My dad suffered with lower back and knee pain. Dr. O'Dell asked my dad to visit his office, claiming he could help with the pain. After a few adjustments, he was pain free. This is when I decided Chiropractic was for me. I had a real interest in healing and promoting health and wellness.
I graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractic in South Carolina in 1994 and moved to Jackson where my parents had relocated. I opened my office in 1996 with the help of Dr. Max and Sue Hensley, at their office on S. West Avenue. In 1999 I moved to my own office on Spring Arbor Rd. The original office was 1500 square feet, and within a few years the office had grown to add the suite next door. Soon after, we needed more space. That is when we found our new office on Greenwood Ave. in December 2008, but we grew out of that building. We moved to our new office in January 2020 at the Sky Professional Suites Building.
I have been an active Century Club member of the Michigan Association of Chiropractors for 16 years. I regularly attend postgraduate seminars to stay proficient with the latest technology. I was one of the first Chiropractors in Michigan to use the Pulstar adjusting instrument. The instrument allows me to adjust patients in a less evasive, more comfortable way. With computerized analysis I can show my patients the improvement in the alignment of their spine after an adjustment.
